Of the 40 photo's on the sight these three were my favorite.

There is a lot of raw emotion in this photo. That's why it was my top first pick. The way that the photographer caught the photo in the shadowed light just adds to the 'grief' of the photo. I don't think people understand just how sad this is though. When a soldier dies the next of kin gets a flag. The husband, the wife. To have he flag go to the son... I don't think that anyone understands that it must mean that that little boy at eight years old has no one now. I think because there is so much emotion behind this photo it made it to the top 40's.

I chose this photo because honestly? Is no one going to talk about the two little boys in the laundry bin that the police officers are wheeling out of there? Come on that is gold. The photographer took this from a view of the old woman and young girl possibly as a way to show unity in a disaster. Hand in hand. Honestly he should have go the boys in the waste basket. I think this made the top 40 because it was supposed to be symbolic and striking.

My last photo of my top three of the top 40. A priest in Venezuela giving a soldier his last rights after he was shot by a sniper. This photo... what makes all of these photo's the most 40 powerful photos is the pure emotion it. The striking emotions that these photo's capture. The photographer set this photo up straight. With the most water in the background like a dreary rainy day. This photo made it to the top 40 because of the sadness. The impact it has on a person who see's that man clinging to the priest as his death rights are given.
