Camera history and Camera parts

1. The camera obscura is a device that projects an image onto the wall like a projector. The whole in the box acted like a lens focusing light.

2. The high quality glass lense brought us closer to making the first camera.

3. Niepce added film to finish the first camera.

4. Light passes through the lense and into the camera and exposes the film. Just like the Niepce camera.

6. On the auto mode everything is controlled. In the program mode you can control some settings like flash.

7. Portrait mode attempts to blur out the back ground and uses the highest lense setting.

8. The Sports mode is used to freeze motion using the highest shutter speed possible.

Camera Parts

Aperture- The opening in a camera that light must pass through to reach the film.

Shutter- A device on a camera that allows light to pass through for a determined amount of time.

Exposure- The amount of light that's allowed to fall on the photo .

Depth of field- Is the distance between the nearest and farthest object in a photo.

F-stop- Is the control for the size of the Aperture to determine how much light is allowed in.

Focal length- This is a measure of how strongly the system converges or diverges light.
