Purpose of Photography: Africa

The photo's were cute sometimes.

This photo Lion under leaning tree by Nick Brandt was my favorite of the slide show. I like the simplicity and the sort of desolation of the photo. Also it looks faintly like there is a single sun ray illuminating the lion as he lays under the tree.

I'm pretty sure that Simplicity is used in this photo.

He uses a Pentax 67II with only two fixed lenses

Nick Brandt takes these photo's of Africa and the wildlife there as a last testament before it's destroyed by the hand of man.

He hopes to preserve its beauty in his photos before it's no longer there.

This is what Brandt had to say about not using a telephoto lens to photos.  "You wouldn't take a portrait of a human being from a hundred feet away and expect to capture their spirit; you'd move in close."
